HESTUM attaches particular importance to sustainable development and optimal use of energy in its real estate projects.
However, sustainable development starts with oneself. HESTUM has been a climate-neutral company since 2021, which means: greenhouse gas emissions have been recorded, continuously reduced and unavoidable emissions have been offset through climate protection projects.
With the company's climate neutrality, the climate protection project “Regionale Projekte Bäume pflanzen Deutschland” is supported.

*Climate neutrality for companies includes direct emissions caused within the company (electricity and heat generation, vehicle fleet, fugitive gases) and indirect emissions caused by purchased energy, business trips, and employee travel. Other indirect emissions that occur outside the company during the production of raw materials and intermediate products, external logistics and the use and disposal of products or other processes are not covered by climate neutrality.
SOCIAL
Since 2015, HESTUM has been supporting the non-profit organization Caspalina, which supports seriously ill children and children with disabilities in Germany. The Hamburg based organization works entirely on a voluntary basis and is thus able to pass on 100% of the donation income to the respective projects.

GOVERNANCE
The corporate management relies on the strengths of the employees. These are sustainably promoted through flat hierarchies and according to the bottom-up principle for process improvement in the company.
The employees are therefore an active part and in this way help to develop the company in a future-oriented manner.
